Heidi Jones, a weatherwoman with WABC in New York, was arrested and charged with filing a false report after police say she lied about an alleged rape attempt in Central Park.Soon after this weather forecast Saturday night, WABC-TV meteorologist Heidi Jones was picked up by detectives who were waiting in the ABC studios for her to finish. According to sources close to the investigation, detectives had concluded that her story about almost being raped while jogging in Central Park was a lie.
Jones, 37, told cops she was jogging in the park on the afternoon of Sept. 24 when a Hispanic man in his 30s or 40s grabbed her from behind, dragged her into a wooded area and attempted to rape her… She told police that the would-be rapist was scared off by two passers-by who came to her aid.
Jones admitted that she had fabricated the story to deflect unspecified personal turmoil in her life. If convicted of the charge, Jones faces up to a year in prison and a $1,000 fine.

Scarlett Johansson, star of movies such as Vicky Cristina Barcelona and He's Just Not That Into You, married Ryan Reynolds The Canadian native, whose credits include Van Wilder and the upcoming Green Lantern, was previously engaged to singer Alanis Morissette.
Ryan and Scarlett’s split comes on the heels of a tough 2010 for some of Hollywood’s longest unions. The year has ended in Splitsville for David Arquette and Courteney Cox, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman, Dexter stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, and most recently Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens; the ex-Disney sweethearts went their separate ways last week.

A rare tornado hit tiny Aumsville Oregon at lunchtime on Tuesday December 14 2010. The aumsville tornado likely was caused by unstable cold air slamming into the unseasonable warm, moist air mass that has lingered in the Willamette Valley for several days, climate experts said.Tornado in Oregon damaging or destroying half a dozen buildings, but initial reports say there were no injuries from the fluke twister.
A tornado ripped through Aumsville, Oregon just before noon today. The high winds and storm that brought the tornado had earlier torn the roof off the Seahorse Oceanfront Motel in Lincoln City on the Oregon coast.
